Uncles Hawaiian Grindz
2315 Belair rd, Suite B2, Fallstom, MD 21047
                                                               www.eatatuncles.com

This is a farm to table restaurant. Uncle's gets fresh ingredients from about 10 farms based on their website. Had high expectations coming in based on the fact that friends and friends of friends recommended this place. It did not disappoint. Our server Joe was friendly and knowledgeable of everything that was on the menu. Joe was a great server.

For my drink I ordered the Mango Otai
Muddled fresh mango, coconut milk, coconut water, mango infused vodka, koloa coconut rum, served on the rocks. It was fruity and strong. The best of both worlds.

My husband ordered the Pineapple Mojito
Muddled pineapple and fresh mint, with koloa hawaiian rum, coconut water, fresh lime and soda. He said it was refreshingly strong.

For the appetizer we ordered the Hawaiian Nachos
Crispy wonton chips topped with shaved coconut, charred corn, tomato, avocado chunks and mango salsa, with sriracha sour cream and shredded cabbage with chicken. You can also order it with Tuna poke, Kalua Pig, Spam, and Crispy Tofu. A taste of the tropics in every bite.

                                                 Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Beef and pork meatballs, grilled pineapple, Hawaiian barbeque sauce. Tender, sweet, and delicious.

For our main entrees we selected:

                                                    The Brothers
Grilled pineapple, kalua pig, swiss cheese, Tonkatsu (Japanese barbecue) sauce and crispy shallot.
My husband truly enjoyed this.

                                                       Uncles Mixed Plate
A sampling trio of pulled Huli Huli Chicken, Shrimp Shack Skewer and Beef Teriyaki, served with Asian stir fry. I also added pork. I'm not a big meat eater but this was so good I couldn't stop eating all the different meats on the plate. Almost forgot about the side of rice and macaroni salad.

For dessert we both ordered the Haupia Cheesecake

Layers of coconut cream and chocolate cheesecake, with chocolate macadamia cookie crust, whipped coconut cream and shaved chocolate. This was one of the best cheesecake we have ever had. Absolutely delicious!!

Even if you're a picky eater, like my husband, and  think you will not find anything you like on their menu, give them a chance, you may find something you love that will keep you coming back for more.

Fogo de Chao
600 E. Pratt St.
Baltimore, MD 21202

Fogo de Chao is a Brazilian Steakhouse  located at the Inner Harbor. They offer valet parking during dinner hours for $12.00. It is advised that you make dinner reservations because this place fills up very fast.
It's beautiful on the outside and even better on the inside. This restaurant is considered to be a gourmet buffet.

After you are seated, your waiter, one of many, will explain how it works. You get what looks like a drink coaster, one side is red and the other is green. You turn your coaster to the green side when you would like more meat and to the red when you don't. Towards the front there's a buffet selection of different salads,  rice, black beans, deli meats, cheeses. It took a little getting used to the service but we got the hang of it after 5 minutes.

For a cocktail I ordered Mango Refresco. It was very refreshing.

I headed up to the buffet and picked a little bit of almost everything. I got some rice and black beans, smoked salmon, some veggies, tomatoes and mozzarella.
When we came back to our table we noticed we had two extra dishes. One was Mashed Potatoes and the other was Yucca Fries and Fried Plantains. That made this Florida girl very happy!!
As you're eating, and you have your coaster on green, you will have wait staff coming to your table with different meats on sticks. ( I believe they have 16 different cuts of meats). I got some ribs, lamb, wings, pork, and sausage. My favorite was the chicken wings, They tasted amazing!! I couldn't get enough of them!!

For dessert I ordered the Flan. It was amazing!! That Flan made this Florida girl very happy as soon as I took the first bite. It was like having a piece of Miami in front of me!! You will not regret ordering this dessert.

I loved everything about this restaurant. I loved the look, the food, and the wait staff was excellent. I cant wait to go back.

G&M Restaurant and Lounge
804 N Hammonds Ferry Road
Linthicum Heights, MD 21090

This restaurant is now one of my favorites!! A lot of it's popularity comes from word of mouth. The atmosphere is great and the staff is excellent!!

We started out with a Malibu Mango Mojito, the only thing missing was the beach!!

For an appetizer, we ordered the Crap Dip, it was perfectly gooey and cheesy and the bread was perfectly crunchy.

For the entree, I ordered the Crab Cake Platter, Red Smashed Potatoes, and Homemade Coleslaw. These were the BEST crab cakes I have ever had!! Amazing!! Can't wait to go back and have some more!!
For dessert I ordered The Chocolate Mouse Cake. If you love chocolate you will love this dessert. It was almost too cute to eat but I couldn't resist.
There's two sides to this restaurant. One side is you can order and take food to go and on the other side is a full service restaurant. Everything in this restaurant looked and smelled amazing. Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes as well as have some more of those amazing crab cakes!!

San Antonio, Texas

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

Last week I took a trip to San Antonio, Texas. I only spent two days there but managed to get in as much as I could about this city. There are not many straight flights from Maryland to San Antonio so I ended up taking a connecting flight. I had a connection in Charlotte, NC. I decided to take a carry on bag only on this trip which was a first for me. I did my research and then decided what I could take on a plane. As far as toiletries go, I took the following:

This travel bag of toiletries can be easily found at Wal-Mart for about $5.00

It includes toothpaste, floss, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, deodorant, a toothbrush and comb.

I also bought travel size hairspray, foundation, body spray, and face moisturizer.

For those of you who have never been to the airport in NC it is not small at all. I almost had to sprint to make onto my next plane, luckily I only had a carry on because it took about 20 minutes to get to the gate. I call it the food mecca airport because they have so many food and drink options!!

Reaching my destination!!

I stayed at the Doubletree Hotel in Downtown, San Antonio. It was located about 20-25 min from the airport and 10 minutes from the Riverwalk.

The view from my room which was located on the 2nd floor.

A few things to keep in mind if you have a pool view, If you have the air on automatic, every time the air goes off you will hear noises from the cars and the doors slamming in the hallway.

The hotel offers free shuttle service to any area downtown and will pick you up exactly where they drop you off. The hotel staff were very friendly. I decided to go to the RiverCenter Mall and go to Johnny Rockets for a bite to eat.

I decided to start off with a Deluxe Oreo Cookies and Cream Milkshake which was thick and creamy and good.

I ordered the Bacon Cheddar Burger made with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and Special Sauce.

I was not impressed by this burger, it wall all over the place. Some parts of the burger was well done and other parts of it was medium rare.
The service was good at first but then the server kept asking me if I wanted a to-go box when I wasn't even half way through the burger yet which began to annoy me!!.

The next day, ,my son and I headed to the famous RiverWalk. It was a beautiful day to enjoy it.

The ducks and pigeons are so used to people that they will walk right in front of you or even come up to you.

It also has RiverBoat Tours which will take you around the RiverWalk and the driver will explain a bit of history about it.

We decided we needed something sweet and cold to eat so we headed to Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop.

We ordered the  Crissy Field Cookie and Bits Sundae-made with Vanilla ice cream between Cookies 'n Cream ice cream, smothered in hand made hot fudge, topped with whipped cream, Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookie Crumbles and two Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Caramel Minis.

                    Creamy and delicious!!

Best Sundae I've ever had!!

We could not experience a whole lot because we had a very busy schedule, but my son and I do plan to go back soon and experience all that San Antonio, Texas has to offer!!

Chili's Restaurant

My family and I love coming here at least twice a month. It has a nice atmosphere and great staff. I always try something new from the menu, and a lot of the times I end up really impressed. Today wasn't any different.

Tito's Punch

I started off with a cocktail. This has not been on the menu for long, but it has become one of the favorites in a short period of time!!
It's made with Vodka, Malibu, house made sour, pineapple juice, and grenadine. It has the right amount of sweet and it's also very refreshing!!

 Chips, Salsa, and Guacamole

This is the best choice if you don't want to fill up before your entree. I always go for the guacamole. It's always perfectly seasoned.

Sunrise Burger

I was a little scared to try this burger but I'm so glad that I did!! This is one of the best burgers I have ever eaten!! It's made with a farm fresh, cage-free fried egg, pepper Jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, red onion & tomato with Chili's own signature sauce.

Perfectly cooked fried egg.

 Perfect seasoning.

No need for ketchup!!

Perfectly cooked burger, juicy and moist.
Warning: You will need a lot of napkins!!

and of course, you cant forget dessert!!

Skillet Toffee Fudge Brownie

This is an oven baked toffee brownie topped with vanilla ice cream, drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with toffee pieces. This dessert contains nuts. Fudge brownie is nice and warm, and ice cream is rich and creamy.

We always have a great time at Chili's!!
